Before you book
Thank you for choosing Beattie Beauty for your makeup services. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before securing your booking.
By making a payment and confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms.
1. Booking and payment
A booking is only considered confirmed once the required booking payment has been received.
UK bookings
A 50% booking payment is required to secure your appointment or date. The remaining 50% balance must be paid before the appointment.
International bookings
For bookings taking place outside the UK, 100% payment is required to secure the booking.
Your date and appointment time will not be considered fully secured until the required payment has been received. Payments must be made using the payment method provided at the time of booking.
2. Payment deadlines
Any outstanding balance must be paid by the agreed deadline. If the balance is not received by the deadline, I reserve the right to release the appointment or date and offer it to another client.
For larger bookings, weddings or international bookings, different payment arrangements may be agreed in writing.
3. Cancellations and refunds
If you need to cancel your booking, please notify me as soon as possible and in writing.
Cancellation terms will take into account the amount of notice provided, work already undertaken, costs incurred and my ability to rebook the appointment or date.
Where a booking payment or deposit is retained following cancellation, this will be based on the applicable agreed terms and reasonable losses associated with the cancellation.
If I am able to rebook your date, I may, at my discretion, refund some or all of an amount previously paid after deducting any reasonable costs or losses incurred.
Nothing in these terms is intended to remove or restrict any rights you may have under UK consumer law.
4. Changing your booking
Changes to the agreed details must be requested as soon as possible and are subject to availability. This includes:
- Date
- Time
- Location
- Number of clients
- Services required
- Type of event
Changes may result in an additional charge where they require additional time, travel, products, assistants or other expenses.
A change of date is not guaranteed and will be treated as a new date subject to my availability.
5. Travel and location
Travel fees may apply depending on the location of the booking. Any applicable travel, parking, congestion, toll, ULEZ or accommodation costs will be communicated before the booking is confirmed.
For international bookings, the client is responsible for agreed travel-related expenses unless otherwise stated in writing.
Where accommodation is required for an international or out-of-London booking, this will be agreed and paid for separately where applicable.
6. Early starts and out-of-hours bookings
Additional charges may apply to appointments requiring very early starts, late finishes, overnight travel or work outside my standard working hours.
The applicable fee will be communicated before the booking is confirmed.
7. Client arrival and lateness
Please arrive on time and be ready for your appointment.
If you are late, your appointment may still need to finish at the originally agreed time in order to accommodate other clients or event commitments. A late fee may apply where lateness significantly affects the schedule.
If lateness means that the agreed service cannot reasonably be completed, I cannot guarantee the originally requested makeup look or full service.
8. Client preparation
Clients should arrive with a clean, makeup-free face, unless otherwise agreed.
Please advise me before the appointment of any relevant skin sensitivities, allergies, medical considerations or reactions to cosmetic products. Clients are responsible for informing me of any known allergies or sensitivities before products are applied.
9. Hygiene and safety
Professional hygiene and sanitation practices will be followed throughout the appointment.
I reserve the right not to apply products to areas of broken, infected, irritated or otherwise compromised skin where doing so may pose a health or safety concern.
I may also decline to perform a service if I believe it could reasonably cause harm or an adverse reaction.
10. Makeup products and allergies
I use professional makeup products and maintain appropriate hygiene practices. However, cosmetic reactions can occur even when professional products and appropriate hygiene procedures are used.
Clients must disclose any known allergies, sensitivities or previous reactions to makeup or skincare products before the appointment.
If you have particularly sensitive skin or a known allergy, please notify me in advance so that we can discuss suitable arrangements.
11. Makeup trials
Where a makeup trial is booked, the trial is intended to establish your preferred style, finish and overall look.
A trial does not guarantee that the final makeup will look identical in every respect, as factors such as skin condition, weather, lighting, photography and the products available on the event date can affect the final result.
For weddings and major events, I strongly recommend completing a trial in advance.
12. Weddings and group bookings
For bridal parties and group bookings, the final number of clients and required services should be confirmed by the agreed deadline.
Additional clients cannot be guaranteed on the day and will only be accommodated where time and availability allow.
A minimum booking requirement may apply to bridal parties, destination weddings and larger bookings. Where an assistant or additional makeup artist is required, this will be discussed and agreed in advance.
13. International bookings
For international bookings, the client is responsible for providing accurate travel, accommodation and event information.
The client may also be responsible for agreed:
- Flights
- Accommodation
- Airport transfers
- Ground transportation
- Visa or entry-related costs
- Checked baggage or equipment fees
- Other reasonable travel expenses agreed before booking
International bookings will only be confirmed once the required payment and agreed travel arrangements have been secured.
14. Unforeseen circumstances
I will make every reasonable effort to fulfil your booking. However, I cannot be held responsible for circumstances outside my reasonable control, including severe travel disruption, natural disasters, government restrictions, serious illness, accidents or other emergencies.
If I am unable to attend due to an emergency, I will make reasonable efforts to arrange a suitable replacement makeup artist, subject to availability.
If a suitable replacement cannot be arranged, any refund will be handled in accordance with the circumstances and applicable consumer law.
15. Photography and content
With your permission, photographs or videos of your makeup may be taken for portfolio, website and social media purposes.
No client images will be used for promotional purposes without appropriate consent. If you do not wish for your images to be used, please let me know before or during your appointment.
16. Personal belongings
Clients remain responsible for their personal belongings during the appointment.
I cannot accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged personal items unless caused by my negligence.
17. Professional conduct
I reserve the right to end an appointment or refuse a booking where there is abusive, threatening, discriminatory, intimidating or inappropriate behaviour towards myself, my assistants or other clients.
Where an appointment is ended for this reason, any refund will be considered in accordance with the circumstances and applicable law.
18. Pricing
All prices will be confirmed before the booking is secured.
Additional services, travel, waiting time, parking, accommodation, assistants or other agreed expenses may incur additional charges. No additional charges will be intentionally hidden from the client.
19. Communication
All important booking details, including dates, times, locations, services, prices and payment deadlines, should be confirmed in writing.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact information and checking booking communications.
20. Agreement
By making a booking payment, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and agree to be bound by them.
These terms are intended to provide clarity for both the client and makeup artist and do not affect any statutory rights you may have under UK law.
Thank you for respecting these terms and for allowing me to provide your makeup services.
